We had 27 participants in this year's version of Vicki's Death March. This was a very nice turnout for the first Friday edition of the run. In years past, the VDM has generally been on a Thanksgiving weekend Saturday or Sunday. Looks like there are enough club members more interested in the mountain trails than in participating in the "Black Friday" sales at the malls to continue the Friday date in the years to come.

Frank Probst won his age group with a great time at the JFK 50 miler held on November 21 in Washington County, Maryland. Annette Bednosky was third woman and first in her age group. This was Frank's 20th JFK finish. Ed Demoney finished at age 75. The weather was great for running and the trail was in good shape. One interesting side light of the event was the Scott Jurek was "chicked" by the winning woman's course record. The Navy Team beat the West Point Team. Results | JFK Web site | A few photos on Flickr

The weather was not that bad at the Potomac Heritage 50km. Yes, there was rain, but it wasn't too hard. Also, it was not too cold. But the streams were high and the mud on the trail got a bit squishy.
Kerry's report and results are now available.
The event was great as usual. A well-marked course and great aid stations. The post race festivities were up to the usual high standard of our hostess, Kerry.
A big thank you to Kerry and all of her volunteers!
