Annette Bednosky and Mike Campbell Take Honors at Burning River 100

Annette was the overall winner. Mike won the "Grand Master" age group. (We think that Grand Master started at age 50. Mike is 60.)  There were several other VHTRC participants in the run held in northeast Ohio. Event Web site

Amy Sproston is Second Woman at White River 50

Amy was 20th overall at the White River 50 mile run on July 31, in Crystal Mountain, Washington. Event Web site

Canadian Death Race

Vicki Kendall and Barb Isom finished the Canadian Death Race on August 1. (That's really its name.) The 125 km event takes place in the Candian Rockies in Alberta. In a text message to VHTRC.org world headquarters, Vicki and Barb said of the experience, "We finished in 22 hours. Scenery [was] beautiful. Trails, very, very tough. Hardest thing we have ever done."  They promise a report when they return.  Results

Greg and Anne Loomis welcome Baby Jason

Congratulations to Greg and Anne on the arrival of Jason Michael Loomis, born Tuesday July 20, weighing in at 7lbs 15oz and measuring 21 inches long!

Sabrina Moran Second Overall at Lone Ranger 24 hour

Sabrina Moran fiinished the Lone Ranger 24 Hour in Philadelphia on Saturday with 125 miles, good for second overall. Serge Arbona was first overall with 146 miles. The race was a 8.45 loop along the Skuylkill River in 100 degree temperatures. Lone Ranger results | Sabrina's race report on her blog

Neal Gorman Second at Vermont 100

Neal finished the Vermont 100 in 16:33, about 30 minutes behind winner Andy Jones-Wilkins and just nine minutes ahead of top female Kami Semick. He is now 2-for-2 in the Grand Slam. Justine Morrison was the top VHTRC female, finishing her first 100 miler in 23:23. Prasad Gerard, Tammy Massie, Tammy Bagdhassarian, and Twila Brown also finished. Badwater - Alisa Finishes!

VHTRC member Alisa Springman finished Badwater in 42:17:28 for 48th place. Badwater runs 135 miles from the lowest point in the United States in Death Valley to the trailhead to the highest point in the United States (minus Alaska), Whitney Portal.  Badwater Webcast.

Bighorn

Kirstin Corris reports from the Bighorn runs in Wyoming that Tom Corris took third place in the male 50-59 age group. He was the first VHTRC 50K finisher. Other 50k finishers: Kirstin Corris, Jill Quivey, Regina Nuzzo, Keith Moore, Linda Wack, Dave Quivey, Drew Watson, Ed Demoney (first in the 70+ age group). Tom Simonds was a 50 mile finisher and Gaynor Bourgeois is still on the course. Mike Dobies was pulled for time after Dry Fork. Dave Yeakel was the first VHTRC finisher. San Diego 100 Mile

Thouigh we don't recognize any VHTRC finishers, we should note that Scott Mills was the RD for the San Diego 100 Mile on June 12-13.  The event had live updates. While the competition was close, we give the score in the live update contest as: SD100 2 - MMT 1. Congrats to Scotty!  He is now off to run Western $tates for the last time. SD 100 Web site
