Dave Frazier of Harrisonburg led a strong field of runners in winning the Elizabeth Furnace 50km race in the Fort Valley on Saturday March 15. Dave crushed the previous course record, set in 2013 by Brad Hinton, coming in just under 5 hours (in 4:59:32) on this extremely challenging course. Angela Russell of Frederick, MD, was the first woman to finish, in a time of 6:53. A record number of runners participated in the event, and a large number of them shared in the EFA "Magellan Award" through their uncanny ability to get lost.

Many VHTRC members braved the snow and mud at David Horton's Holiday Lake 50km on February 15. VHTRC member Holly Bugin was the women's winner. The top VHTRC male finisher was Ryan Paavola, who was second overall. Results [pdf]
