Team Competition

The BRR team competition is primarily for fun. The categories are designed to challenge those who want competition, and to amuse those who want a good time. The team awards will be small tokens that will not be worth taking performance enhancing drugs to win.

All teams must have five members. Teams must be coed with at least two men and two women. Each BRR entrant can be a member of only one team. Other than this, there are no restrictions on who is on a team (i.e., no geographic or affiliation restrictions such as in past years).

There are five team award categories. There is one award in each category. The categories are:

Category Notes: "Finish together" means that all members must cross the finish line at roughly the same time. When the first team member crosses the finish line, the last team member must be visible from the finish line. The "best theme" will be judged based on the team name and any other antics that will bribe the judges. Special clothing is not necessary and is unlikley to be judged. Team will generally receive the highest award it qualifies for, though we reserve the right to fiddle around in an attempt to make everyone happy and repay any bribes we receive. "Highest" is the order that the categories are listed above.

Teams do not declare a category and will be considered for all awards, but may only receive one. To receive an award, all members of the team must finish officially (i.e. under 13 hours).

At this point, assume you may not change team membership once you form your team. We may allow subsitution of one team member if we find a team coordinator who is a good person willing to fiddle with that. Any substitution will have to occur before race day.

Awards: We will have a small token of each winning team's "achievement," but we do not plan fancy awards. Given the nature of the categories, all of the awards may not be decided until late on race day. If your team wants its recognition, at least one member of the team must remain to pick it up. Team awards will not be mailed.

To Form a Team

The team captain should send the team's name as well as the names of the five team members to the Team Coordinator (to be designated). By submitting a team, captains are certifying that they have talked to all proposed team members and that each member wants to be on the team and is not on another team.

Deadline

April 6 is the last day to form a team.
